Really outstanding album with hand carved wooden covers from a former Polish inmate of the infamous concentration camp of Mauthausen, with photos taken 2 weeks after the liberation! This album of the highest quality, was made as a memento of one of the saddest periods of humankind, and all the photos along 13 pages depict places of the concentration camp, as well as the horrible quarry where hundreds found their death. The guys that appear in the photos seem to be camp acquiatances that were taken to the camp and survived it and went there again to visit it and take some pictures. In the photos we can see the crematoria, the cemetery, the quarry, barracks, SS Kommandantur, Appelplatz, the hospial with some skinny still-recovering former inmates, electrified fence, the main gate of the camp, Gusen, Ebensee V2 rockets subterranean workshops, etc. It's a really impressive document of what the camp was and what did it look like just after the liberation. So this is a great chance to get a museum piece, with an outstanding high quality handcrafted wooden covers and of course, great photos taken by a former prisoner.
