We offer for sale two very special Reisepässe (Passports) that belonged to 2 members of the world famous dinasty of the Rothschilds. One belonged to Richard Rothschild, born in Berlin in 1905 and that worked as Engineer and Architect. The other Reisepass belonged to Ilse Rothschild (neé Hirsch), who was born in Milan (Italy) and was presumibly Richard's wife, since he was born the same year. Both passports are in awesome condition, with no damage at all, with their original photos on them and with many entries. Richard's passport has the name Israel, that was compulsory for all the male Jews to be identified by Nazi authorities, and Ilse's name was also Sara. Both booklets have very nice and clear ink stamps, and many visas from different countries they visited to flee from Nazi Germany to America. Visas are from Chile, Italy, France, etc. And of course, both passports were marked with the obligatory big red ink "J" that stood for "Jude", so as to be identified by German authorities when they wanted to travel to other countries. These 2 examples are beautiful ones and they are historically very important documents that show us how hundreds of lucky Jews made their own way to freedom, escaping from the horror of anti-Semitism and Holocaust in Europe, with no less difficulties. Other 6 million Jews that were killed until 1945 by the Nazis and their collaborators all over Europe, weren't as lucky as this couple, though.
