St. Georgen- Bayreuth - During the Second World War , large numbers of foreigners were brought in, especially Czechs and forced deported Eastern workers . Special tightening was prescribed for the execution of sentences against Poles and French resistance fighters . Towards the end of the war, the prison, which had room for around 1200 prisoners, was overcrowded with over 5000 prisoners from more than ten nations.
