Very rare period photo taken in the Ghetto of Warsaw in the early 40's shwoing some Jews wearing armbands. We can see some Jewish elderly men and a woman walking on the street. All wearing the compulsory white armband with the blue star of David printed on it. It seems photo was taken in the early months of life of the ghetto. On the reverse we can see written with a pencil "Jüdenviertel" or Jewish quarter or district, clearly the Ghetto. We are sure this is photo from ghetto Warsaw because the coat of arms of Warsaw is on the city lighthouse! It appears in the book by Norbert Podlesny and Daniel de Varannes "A Glimpse of Evil - Part I of a Trilogy", the best reference book ever published about the Holocaust artifacts and collectables.
