Very rare Meldekarte for Jews Jurkiewicz Leizer issued to a Jew that was imprisoned in the Jewish Ghetto of Petrikau (Poland). This ID card was issued to this man as slave worker for the wood factory in Petrikau. It is very damaged with some rips and water damage. It comes with his photo where his face is still visible. It is written in German, Polish and Ukrainian.Ghetto Petrikau (Piotrkow) was established early October 1939. Piotrków became the site of the first Jewish ghetto of World War II set up in occupied Poland. Approximately 25,000 people from Piotrków and the nearby towns and villages were imprisoned there. During the Holocaust 22,000 were sent to the Treblinka extermination camp, while 3,000 were imprisoned in other Nazi concentration camps.
