Awesome pair of photos of the well known Polish priest Anotoni Rewera, born in Samborzec (Poland) in 1869 and who was a very important priest in Poland and had an important duty under Pope Benedictus XV Papacy. This priest was arrested by Gestapo 16. march 1942 and after some interrogation he admitted having read Polish clandestine press and was took to KL Auschwitz II Birkenau. The first mug shot photo with is a immediate post-war copy taken from Auschwitz museum archives using original negatives. You can see Antoni Rewera wearing the prisoner uniform with red triangle with P written inside and his number in the camp, 27458. Then, same year he was transferred to KL Dachau, where after suffering horrible vexation and harassment and mistreatment, he died as a martyr from exhaustion never denying his faith. He is considered one of the 108 Polish Catholic Martyrs of the WW2! He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1999, in Warsaw.

Antoni Rewera (born on January 6, 1869 in the village of Samborzec - Sandomierz County, died on October 1, 1942 in the concentration camp in Dachau) - Polish Catholic priest, prelate, blessed Catholic church, martyr.

Son of Wawrzyniec and Rozalia from the house of Sapielak. In Sandomierz, he graduated from the equipment school, and then, on June 1, 1884, he entered the Higher Theological Seminary in Sandomierz. The master's degree in theology was quoted on 18 June 1893 at the Spiritual Academy in St. Petersburg.

After receiving the priestly ordination (July 2, 1893) As a professor, educator and deputy director at the Seminary in Sandomierz, previously as a pastor, parish priest of the parish SW. Józef in Sandomierz. Full duties of archdeacon, prelate of the sea of ​​Pope Benedict XV, director (in Sandomierz) and delegate to the council of the Fourth Order of St. Franciszka, honorary canon, then general, honorary prelate and finally dean of the Cathedral Chapter.
