KL Dachau - Very very rare KL Dachau cremation ashes urn lid. Only one seen for sale ever!
Price: | $950.00 |
Very very rare and scarce Dachau cremation ashes' urn lid stamped with details of a Polish Jew who was taken from Warsaw to KL Dachau in 1940, most probably a Political, perhaps important prisoner that warranted incarceration at KL Dachau. This prisoner, born in Tiflis, the capital of Georgia, lived in Warsaw, and was taken to the camp most probably due to his communist or Jewish condition, where he was killed and cremated. His name was Eduard Kosacki. His name can be googled and his information is available so you can see that prisoner existed. Made of zinc, these were stamped with prisoner's details after cremation and for a fee the family could buy the remains back. Obviously these were unclaimed as an American GI took the lid home as a memento. It was found among his estate when he died in New Jersey. We have seen only ONE for sale ever!!! So it's very very rare item!!! See also last screanshot made from Polish website about lost citizen in WW 2 . A very poignant item from Dachau KZ. Size is 4.5 inches in height and width.
