WW2 - Jewish rationed food card from Berlin in 1944. With "Jude" stamped on the background! Rare non-valid prototype!
Price: | $160.00 |
Not the commonly seen German rationed food card from war period. This one was only for Jews! Look at the red "Jude" pattern on the background of the card. It came from Berlin and it was valid during a short period in 1944. All the coupons are present and only a minor damage to the card can be seen on 2 corners. Overall condition is fantastic! Think about the rarity of the item, considering it comes from Berlin in 1944! All the jews from Berlin had already been deported to concentration camps like Auschwitz. If you read the crossing text in red, it says: "Ungültiges Muster!" or "Non-valid example". That means that this card was invalid, since it might have been a prototype designed by nazi authorities before Final Solution was put to work and carried out. They didn't expect maybe that no jews would have remained in Berlin by that date... Very rare item indeed!
