WW 2 - Historically important set of the former KL Dora-Mittelbau concentration camp prisoner René Lambrechts!
Price: | $620.00 |
We offer you the chance to get a set that belonged to the famous Nordhausen Belgian inmate René Lambrechts, who was later a reputed writer. This man wrote the the camp survivor memories book "Wir Muselmänner", telling his horrible experience during his captivity. Muselmann was the name Nazis called the inmates who suffered severe starvation and were just bones with skin, without muscles, so they bowed and just laid his body on the ground as though they were praying like muslims, because they didn't have strength in their legs to stand. They just awaited their death.
Lambrechts set comprises:
his personal temporary ID pass for foreigners and one postcard size photo of René wearing his camp garments. On the reverse of this photo we have a text written by Lembrechts to his friend Jos Veerman, another famous inmate from KL Dora-Mittelbau and Nacht und Nebel prisoner from Größ-Sterlitz. Text reads:
To Jos Veerman, my
brother from the hell of
hate and murder. As a
remembrance of our
muselmannship.
